It is an act of protest that declares our refusal to live numb and small. There is something feral about grief\, something essentially outside the ordained and sanctioned behaviors of our culture. Because of that\, grief is necessary to the vitality of the soul. Contrary to our fears\, grief is suffused with life-force…. It is not a state of deadness or emotional flatness. DESCRIPTION:Open Hearts Dance is a conscious dance space\, rooted in the Open Floor movement cycle and infused with the playfulness of dance theater\, the animism nature of Butoh\, the intimacy of Contact Improvisation and the bare truths of Authentic Movement. \n\n\n\nSince 2017\, this space has been devoted to body-poetry\, the rawness of our heart-soul expression\, moving between the personal and the collective.  \n\n\n\nIt’s a brave and welcoming container to meet all our parts\, through the exploration of our inner landscapes with acceptance & loving kindness. We focus on sensing\, feeling\, experiencing\, exploring the movements of our heart-mind-body-soul. It takes various expressions\, merging Dance Theater\, Butoh\, Contact Improvisation\, Authentic Movement\, into a collective ritual. \n\n\n\nWe let all the influences interwoven inside us and in between rise in the moment. In this sense\, the space is very much co-created by the dancers their presence in the now\, and the interactions between what I pick up from them and vice-versa. \n\n\n\nIt is a safe time-space where we can can get in touch with our “inner dancer”\, and all our parts\, through acceptance and exploration of our emotional landscapes. \n\n\n\nSince 2017\, this space has been dedicated to the rawness of our heart-soul expression and bodypoetry. A journey through individual expression and collective invocation. \n\n\n\nWhat do we do ?We start by warming-up\, and guided embodiment explorations (solo\, duo\, or group)\, then a spacious soundscape of lived-mixed music to journey in-through-with our body-mind-heart-soul\, then comes integration with light energy work. \n\n\n\nWe focus on sensing\, feeling\, experiencing\, exploring the movements of our heart-mind-body-soul.
